URBAN COVENANT STRATEGY
It's all about our Partners
In order to make our work culturally relevant, grassroots and sustainable, Urban Covenant chooses to work through local urban partners; churches, Christian ministries and urban charities who already know the people and services within their own communities.
We are committed to the sustainability of our Ministry Partners and their communities. Together, we assess needs and provide resources to meet these needs. We entrust these great partners to grow and build what they already know how to do best.
As a public foundation, our operations are similar to that of the United Way. Urban Covenant is not about starting something new, rather, we raise awareness and resources to support existing Christian ministries and charities who are already making an impact in the communities they serve. There are so many ministries throughout the Greater Toronto Area who need our help and Urban Covenant wants be there to support them to make the Kingdom impact we want to see in our cities.
Evangelism
Although Urban Covenant will strive to provide resources for Christian ministries that provide food, shelter, education and care for those in the margins of our communities, we want to make it clear that we are also about sharing the Good News of Jesus to everyone. That is why Urban Covenant's board of directors decided that a clear focus of our ministry is to provide resources for organizations whose primary focus is preaching and sharing the hope of Jesus to those who need to know of the Salvation that is available through Him.
Evangelism is an imperative for Urban Covenant because never in history has “Go ye into all the world” only required a bus pass.
